The Leafs announced early Tuesday morning that they had come to terms with Marc-Andre Fleury on what is rumored to be a 2 year deal worth approx $10 million. What this means for Petr Mrazek is unclear but chatter around the league is that the Leafs will either head into training camp and platoon both tenders or move Mrazek to get Lagace a chance to back-up Marc-Andre Fleury.

Fleury was decent enough to warrant resigning, but the Leafs are unsure if they will get more than 40-50 starts from him.

With Fleury turning 35 this season, odds are the Leafs will not want to overwork him in hopes of reaching the playoffs for the 10th straight season. Even if Mrazek is moved, the Leafs may want to add another backup with Lagace being very unproven in the SHL (to date he has had 0 games).

Mrazek potential destinations include; Tampa Bay, NY Rangers, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, St. Louis and Dallas.

According to Friendly Cap Hits, the Leafs still have a projected $7.2m in cap space with another $30 million in cash to spend in upcoming waves. On the wish list include another top six forward who can play wing or center and has some size and speed – a  second pairing defenseman that can eat 15-20 mins a game and play the penalty kill and a backup goalie depending on what happens with Mrazek.
