The Expansion continues as the Kraken continue their quest for SHL glory!

Toronto

Seattle will take Alexander True from Toronto in return for 5M

  • True is a potentially decent 4C with size, rfa age so still some time. The 5M is a great asset for the Kraken to build up their bank and was the selling point.

San Jose

Seattle will select one of Carter Hart, Jordan Binnington, or John Gibson from San Jose after the Sharks have chosen one of those goaltenders to protect, and in return the Kraken will receive the 2022 TOR 2nd.

FC – if the remaining goaltenders that the Kraken have to choose from are all rated 74ov or lower, the Kraken will receive an additional $5M.

  • Took a while to get a deal done, but it appears to be a deal that benefits both teams. The goalies available for Seattle to take haven’t been great this year, so the Sharks don’t lose a big player, and the Kraken get a potential meat shield, a 2nd and maybe 5M if the goalies don’t improve.

Colorado

Seattle will select Christian Jaros from Colorado and in return Seattle will receive Colorado 2nd 2022 as well as 3M

  • A meh d-man, but a 2nd and 3M is nice compensation for a team that will be rebuilding.

Calgary

Seattle will select Anders Bjork from Calgary and in return Seattle will receive Calgary 2nd 2023 and 3M

  • Same thing as Colorado, except a meh forward instead of a d-man.

New Jersey

Seattle selects Alex Biega from New Jersey, in return Seattle will receive 5M

  • Same deal as previous 2 deals, except instead of a pick and cash I get a higher cash amount, overall solid return.

Tampa Bay

Seattle will select Thomas Hickey from Tampa, in return Seattle will receive Tampa 3rd 2023

  • A meh d-man, but a 3rd is nice.

Dallas

Seattle will select Jayson Megna from Dallas and in return will receive Dallas 2nd 2023 and 2M

  • Meh forward, but even more non-roster assets for the Kraken to play with.

Minnesota

Seattle will select Cedric Paquette from Minnesota, in return Seattle will receive 5M, and both teams won’t bid on each-other’s 25% ufa players

  • Paquette actually an alright player, 4th line alright but alright, 5M is nice compensation.

Columbus

Seattle will select Connor Bunnaman from Columbus and not bid on Columbus’s 25% discounted ufa player, in return Seattle will receive Columbus 1st 2023 and Columbus 4th 2022

  • Bunnaman is rfa age and might be an alright 4th line guy, can’t bid on Columbus’s discounted player which sucks but a 1st round pick and 4th is nice. Can’t take any of their appealing goalies but 1st rounders are rebuilders drug of choice.

Florida

Seattle will select Rasmus Ristolainen from Florida, in return Seattle will receive NYR 2nd 2022 and 1M

  • Rasmus could be a decent rebound candidate, will at least be a good, physical shutdown player for next season. More non-roster assets.

Special Announcement

The Kraken feel that now is the time to reveal their first ever non-expansion trade that will be made in the offseason

To Anaheim

Nicolas Roy

Calgary 2nd 2023

2M

To Seattle

Wyatt Johnston

Scott Sabourin

Roy was going to be a solid player and losing non-roster assets isn’t something the Kraken planned on doing, but Johnston is a pretty good prospect so pretty happy, fair deal both ways for sure!
