The Toronto Maple Leafs are on a downward trajectory. They have lost 3 in a row and have only 1 win in their last 7. The issue seems to be defense with the team ranking 24th in goals against. Even more amazing is the fact they boast one of the leagues best rated tenders in King Henrick. Unsure of where to go from here, team GM Chris Ransom has to figure out a way to improve the teams play over the next few weeks or there may be some big changes coming. The Leafs currently sit in 11th place, 6 points out of a playoff spot and no 1st round pick to cushion the blow. For what seemed like a slam dunk months ago is starting to look like a long shot. There is talk the Leafs could try and make a move in goal but with Henricks $8 million dollar cap hit, finding a trading partner is tough. The next 5 games will be the test, if the Leafs can’t reverse the trend it might be over and ownership may be looking to roll some heads.
