Hard to believe but Crosby has never played for a Canadian based team during his tenure in the SHL. Stops in St. Louis, Tampa and Chicago are now part of his legacy but Maple Leafs fans are hoping that the highest scoring player in SHL history can bring the Leafs their second championship.

Crosby currently sits with 1,026 regular season points. His SHL legacy includes three Hart trophies, three Art Ross trophies, one Rocket Richard trophy and one Conn Smythe trophy to go along with two Stanley Cups, both with the Blues.

Olympic Hockey 2014: Is Sidney Crosby Becoming a Problem for Team ...
Crosby has worn the C everywhere he played. With Landeskog the Leafs long term captain, some are speculating Gabe might be traded in order a proper coronation of Crosby.

Now that Crosby has returned to Canada, the Leafs are excited to build the most competitive team they can in order to bring another cup. Crosby will most likely line up with both Gabriel Landeskog and Mitch Marner although that will depend largely on whether the Leafs can fix their cap.

The team is fairly set but the addition of Crosby and his max cap will mean someone is the odd man out. Where that savings comes from will depend on who management thinks will give the team the best chance to be competitive while still following league rules.
