The SHL free agency is in full swing and GM Nellis brought back one of his key signatures that brought the Ducks the Championship back in 2019 when they swept the Florida Panthers in the Final!

TJ Oshie signed on August 8th , 2018 a 3 year contract with the Ducks and 3 years later…
He signed on August 16th , 2021 a 3 year contract with the same organization.

Oshie was traded after the 1st year of the contract to the Sharks , who so happened to win the cup with Oshie as well in 2020.

GM Nellis has seemingly gone in for another playoff run. After finishing with the 3rd worst record in 2020-21, the Ducks have gotten a facelift with the arrival of numerous forwards such as Gabriel Landeskog, Bryan Rust, Jason Zucker, Jonathan Marchessault, Phil Danault and now TJ Oshie. Nellis is probably not done, with cap room available, Nellis could try to add one more veteran to an already steady group.

“TJ was the guy we wanted, he has been here, he won with us and is a great fit. He can play Center and Wing… he scores goals… Just a great pickup for our club” said GM Nellis.

TJ Oshie did meet the press via zoom and was clearly overjoyed with his arrival back in Anaheim

“When I heard over the summer that Luongo was gonna coach this group – I knew I wanted to be part of this. The organization here is consistent in wanting to win and will make the moves necessary to make it happen” commented Oshie.

When asked about his chances to winning again in Anaheim , TJ responsded

“We are the #UnderDucks .. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think it can happen again”
