It’s been a bit since the first expansion deals by the Kraken, but they have made a few more deals that appear to be putting them on the right track to have some good youth within the lineup.

New York Rangers
Seattle will select Wayne Simmonds and in return Seattle will receive NYR 2nd 2023

  • A pretty straight forward deal, get a gritty vet and get a decent draft pick, helps the Kraken build up some draft capital for their first few seasons

New York Islanders
Seattle receives Oskar Sundqvist and NYI 7th 2022, in return the Kraken will select Aaron Dell

  • Aaron Dell is currently the only goalie the Kraken have, he’s trash. But getting Sundqvist who is a solid bottom 6 guy and a draft pick from a team that is otherwise barren is solid.

Philly
Seattle will select Brian Dumoulin from Philly in return for Nicolas Roy

  • Dumoulin is a solid d-man, maybe 2nd pairing caliber, but getting Roy was huge. Could be a solid top 6 forward next season and is pretty young. Could be the 1C for the Kraken in their first couple of seasons potentially

Buffalo
Seattle will take Alex Barre-Boulet from Buffalo in return for Kristian Vesalainen and Buffalo 5th 2022

  • The most recent deal, Boulet is solid when in the lineup and not being sent to the minors. Vesalainen has some intrigue as the former 1st round pick hasn’t found his footing yet and hasn’t seen a ton of ice time. If he gets more playing time he could begin to thrive and make this a solid deal. Also draft capital so yay.
