Let’s take a few teams from the both ends in part 4 of the 5 part series. The comments expressed by this individual should be taken with a grain of salt and is most likely tongue and cheek:

Philly – The East is tough, how tough? Philly sits with a +600 winning percentage and sits in 6th place. Earlier the team sat higher but a skid recently dropped them a bit. That aside, the Flyers have a good mix of youths and vets, speed and skill and a solid D core. I think Philly Chris has put together a team that will be a handful once the playoffs begin.

Ottawa – Ron continues to mold the Sens into his own with an active offseason continuing his rebuild. A nice pack of draft picks for the 2022 draft class should see his efforts begin to pay off as long as his drafting is astute as his trades have been. A couple nice young guys on the roster should help accelerate his rebuild, can’t wait to see this team in a few seasons.

NY Rangers – Todd’s Rags have been an impressive team to watch this season. He was rebuilding but decided to retool after finding some decent value players in UFA and via trades. They sit atop their division in the tough East and look like a contender with a solid one two punch up the middle, killer wings and an adequate D. A stud on D would definitely give him the best chance of winning it all.

NY Islanders – Trevor has continued to show his patience since taking over the Isles. He sits in 9th place but has some very tradeable assets that could be moved by the deadline or the offseason. It will be an interesting watch to see what happens next. As commish, its nice to know the team is in good hands after a revolving door of gms over the past few years.

Dallas – How about those Stars? After rocking Rony joined the SHL, he made some shrewd moves to make the Stars a contender again. Ive seen this done in a few different leagues and sometimes it backfires but this time its worked like a charm. Josh Bailey leads the team in scoring, a team that has Patty Kane and Pasta. So obviously Rony has some voodoo in his arsenal, where it stops, nobody knows.

Detroit – Rich figured he was rebuilding and any questions about that are now answered. This team is a lottery squad. He has some really solid deadline players to move (Freddy, Hedman, Pavelski) which will help in that regard as Rich continues to try and rebuild the roster patiently and prudently. Wings could be king makers at the deadline (I’m looking at you Todd).

Edmonton – Is it just me or has Jamie been rebuilding long enough to see the Yotes build up, strip down then build up again? I can’t wait to see competitive Jamie in the SHL, he knows how to build a team but I gotta say man, you there yet? The SHL needs a contender in Oiltown again and hopefully its not much longer.
