Let’s take a few teams from the both ends in part 3 of the 6 part series. The comments expressed by this individual should be taken with a grain of salt and is most likely tongue and cheek:

St. Louis – The recently canned Holden began a rebuild that he didn’t get to finish. Pete returns to the SHL and has a big job in front of him. Patience will be the key with this franchise that owns a couple SHL cups in the last 12 seasons. But those were the glory days and now the Blues sit at the bottom of the league for now and probably for a while.

San Jose – Luc is definitely one of the most successful general managers in the SHL. An original since the birth of the SHL, he routinely gets painted as one of the tightest GMs in the league who rarely makes a trade the majority of the league would not want to have themselves. I get it, the guy is patient as fuck and his success can’t be argued even though many complain about his trades.

Pittsburgh – When Matt cut ties with the SHL and DHL Jules slipped into my PMs with a request to take over the Penguins. She wanted to run her fav team even though the Flames had just resurged the season before. Calgary currently sits in a top four spot in the West, while Jules Penguins simmer outside the playoffs in the East. She knows how to rebuild a roster which is good news in Pittsburgh.

Chicago – Adams Hawks look more like the NHL Leafs with Matthews, Marner and Soupy Campbell. A busy offseason in Chitown, adding Marner who sits 2nd in teams scoring and little fanfare was given to other new adds Carter Verhaeghe and Dom Kubalik who sit 4th and 5th in scoring for the Hawks. The Hawks could be a team who has a killer 2nd half.

Colorado – Lance is one of the more respected GMs in the SHL but the team is grinding along in neutral. That is probably the calm before the storm, the Avs are looking at some potentially decent rerates and next season can’t come soon enough. If I had to sum up the Avs in one word, it would be ‘oatmeal’.

Columbus – I honestly have no idea what’s going on in Columbus. Are they rebuilding, retooling or competing? They sit in 6th in the East and look pretty good, I guess Jason just said fuck it, lets win some games. He is showing the league how its done this season and has some nice future rerates coming with Mangi, DeAnglo, Kempe, Bennett, Bobo and Zegras. Things looking good in CLB, well done Jason, whatever your doing.
