The Kraken have been sitting around patiently waiting for teams to start calling them up to make some deals. The suspense of who would be the first member of the Kraken was keeping them awake at night. Were they going to swing a deal for a star player like maybe Crosby or Gourde? Well their first player was far better than any star they could’ve dreamed of acquiring. They got Ben fucking Chiarot.

“I was offered a pick to take a former player of mine, so it’s a deal I had to take instantly” said GM MacPherson. “Chiarot is a nice shutdown d-man who is really physical, so his style of play can give fans something to cheer about as it is more than likely that the first season will be a rough one in the wins category”.

The next deal for the Kraken was made shortly after their first one. The Kraken agreed on taking Conor Sheary (or more accurately his ufa rights) in exchange for David Gustafsson. “Gustafsson is a young player whom we think can be a solid two-way player for years to come. He’s likely not a star player but we feel like his style of play makes him a safe bet to be a decently impactful player sooner rather than later”.

The Kraken are far from done, the rumor is that the Kraken won’t be looking to make deals with every team as

a) some teams are just tire fires

and

b) the Kraken want some freedom to pick some good players

There is still a whole year to go but there is now much excitement in Seattle as they are just a few steps closer to becoming an official SHL team and being the next great dynasty led by Ben fucking Chiarot.
